Unfortunately it is a fact that some entrepreneurs earn their money by bundling undesirable spyware with software that they then offer to their visitors to their sites. Ares Destiny is a case in point and its association with the hateful Dealio software has really made me think.
Ares Lite was thought, in the ‘old days’ of 2002 to be the only version of Ares that came without parasitic spyware (and the ‘Lite’ part of the name represented this). This simply was not true, and Ares Lite was designed as a minimal version of Ares Galaxy that simply took up less resources than its bigger brother.
Today, as then, there are plenty of choices of Ares software and plenty of opportunities to take a look around and see which suits you the best. The big daddies of today’s filesharing programs are Ares Ultra, Ares Ultimate. Ares Vista works well with Windows Vista, and Ares Galaxy is the old favorite that everyone is familiar with. Any of these would make great choices. Ares Lite has been overtaken somewhat.
Ares Lite is a great piece of software but it was designed for a time when hardware had a fraction of the power we’ve got now. It served it’s purpose and now it’s time to move on.
